Recognizing Hawaii’s Contributions to the International Visitor Leadership Program

5:30-7:30pm, November 16, 2017
East-West Center Gallery, Burns Hall

Join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and pupus with nine New Zealand-based leaders participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the U.S. Department of State's premier professional exchange program.  Representing diverse Pacific cultures and fields of expertise (including journalism, business and finance, health, education, and community-building), these leaders were selected by the U.S. Embassy in Wellington to partake in the IVLP for their commitment to strengthening their local communities and U.S.-Pacific collaboration. See participant list below

During this reception, PAAC will also recognize Hawaii’s volunteer network of organizations and individuals who share their time, expertise, and aloha with IVLP participants.  These citizen diplomats provide home hospitality, help to arrange professional meetings, and participate in fruitful discussion with visitors.  By helping to foster this exchange, they are helping to bridge trust and empathy across nations, one handshake at a time.
