Fall 2007 Conference

Saturday, November 17, 2007
University of Hawaii, Campus Center Ballroom

This year the conference focus was international careers; “Is an International Career in my Future?” It was led by keynote speaker Carol Christen, who is a career strategist and author of “What Color is Your Parachute? For Teens.” Carol led the morning with many interactive activities, one being where students were put into groups based on personality types. From there, the students went into the career orbiting section of the conference where they had an opportunity to interact with representatives from different international careers. There were 8 career guests total ranging in fields from diplomacy, computer/IT, mass media, travel/tourism and government. After Q & A with the career guests, the students had an opportunity to reconvene in their groups and share information.

There were approximately 125 participants from the following high schools: Aiea, Roosevelt, Kaimuki, Radford, Waialua, Kailua, Moanalua, Kalani, Campbell and Farrington, Pacific Buddhist Academy, International Hospitality Center, Punahou, and Mid-Pacific Institute.
