After an intense competition, Mid-Pacific Institute and Punahou School tied for first place in the Academic WorldQuest Competition on Saturday, February 26, 2005.  Third place was awarded to the Education Laboratory School.  Mid-Pacific and Punahou teams, along with their advisors, Mary Sullivan-Tanaka and Terrina Wong, respectively, will travel to Washington D.C. to compete in the National Academic WorldQuest competition on April 1-3, 2005, thanks to the generous sponsorship of PAAC Board Members.  Members of Mid-Pacific’s team include: Gan Uyeda, Carolyn Pearce, Kyla Graham, and Kyle Tani.  The Punahou team includes: George Bogden, Tyler Dos Santos-Tam, Paige Heckathorn, and Zoe Morrison.

Academic WorldQuest is an exciting team quiz game designed to enhance international education.  Teams compete in six rounds, testing their knowledge of current events, geography, world history, flags, places around the world, and people in the news.  Each team works together to try to come up with the correct answers.
