Ten students participated in a language-intensive program that took them to China and Taiwan. Outside of the classroom, highlights included an overnight stay in Dangjiacun- a historic village, two high school cultural exchanges, a meeting with the US Embassy in Beijing, and tai chi training. In addition to these cultural and professional activities, students visited world-famous landmarks such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terra Cotta Soldiers, the National Palace Museum, and Taipei 101.
China was a mythical thing to me; I knew nothing about China.
But now, the doors are open and I want to know more.”
