On November 16, PAAC and the East-West Center hosted a reception celebrating Citizen Diplomacy and Hawai‘i's contributions to the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the Department of State’s premiere professional exchange program. The evening was filled with storytelling, song, and exchange, featuring a Pacific Islander IVLP group. The nine member delegation was diverse in both professional interests and cultural heritage, comprised of nonprofit, government, private sector, and academia representatives of Samoan, Fijian, Aitutaki, and Maori heritage. Also in attendance were members from Hawai‘i's IVLP volunteer network and the local community.
