As our state continues to practice social distancing, PAAC is offering Hawai'i high school students a variety of opportunities to continue learning about critical global issues and developing 21st century skills- all online.
The Global Issues Certificate recognizes individual Hawaiʻi high school students who have expanded their understanding of global issues and international affairs to a degree worthy of recognition through active participation in PAAC's extracurricular High School Global Education Program. Learn more.
PAAC developed free lesson plans on various global issues and their relevance to Hawai'i. Each lesson relates to one or more of the 17 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and includes a curated list of articles or videos, a short kahoot quiz to test comprehension, discussion questions, ideas for action, and more. These lessons were designed to be easily adaptable for PAAC club meetings or classroom situations. Access the SDG Curriculum Suite here.
PAAC can facilitate interactive simulations for your school, class, or PAAC club. We are currently offering two simulations, both focusing on climate change. These simulations help students to visualize and understand which actions have the most impact on climate change. Maximum 35 students per simulation. Learn more here.
Mini Global Vision Summits
PAAC aims to offer monthly virtual summits on various global issues and their impact in Hawai'i. Mini-GVS will feature interactive simulations, guest speakers, and other activities. Details on upcoming summits to be shared throughout the year.
We all are spending a lot more time on zoom and our computers these days. Spice up your backgrounds with images from PAAC's past Study Tours. Download your favorites for free.
