Summit Details

  • • WHEN: September Friday, 8th to Sunday, September 10th, 2023
  • • WHERE: 1601 East-West Center Road: Imin Center, John Burns Hall
  • cool This is an overnight retreat, so be prepared for some slumber party vibes. Students will be rooming together for the duration of the event (bedrooms will NOT be co-ed and chaperones will be present). We cannot accommodate all officers overnight, but our goal is to have at least 2 officers from each club overnight with us.

Who can attend?

• Oahu Clubs: We have three officer spots for each club to attend the daytime events (8:00 am to 9:45 pm), and two officer spots per club to overnight with us. We ask that the officers commit to the full three days and two nights.

• Neighbor Island Clubs: We have three officer spots for each club! We provide your flight, transportation and accommodations on Oahu for the full three-day summit!

Who can attend Day 2 "Hawaiʻi Youth Summit"?

You can invite other officers and/or club members to the Hawaii Youth Summit, hosted by the East-West Center. However, HYS is seeking to engage new students from your schools and schools across the state, so we ask PAAC Clubs to limit themselves to 5 members total to attend the HYS one-day event. These five would include the 2-3 officers already attending the 3-day training. See this matrix for clarity on who attends what and what you need to complete to be fully registered. This event is limited to 100 seats so reserve those seats ASAP.

Other key information

  • Expectations: As part of the PAAC community, we anticipate that students uphold the highest standards of behavior and adhere to our attendance rules.
  • Friday Absence: The event begins of Friday, Sept. 8, which is a school day. Please work with your advisor to get the needed permission to miss school. You will need parent/guardian permission and be expected to make up missing school work.
