Native Forest Restoration GAP

Saturday, February 1, 2020

The Sierra Club is hosting an Ala Mahamoe Native Forest Restoration workday on Saturday, February 1 from 8:00-11:00am.  PAAC students are welcome to attend. We will be removing invasive plants (primarily guinea grass) to increase the chances of survival for hundreds of native plants that were outplanted in November 2018.

PAAC students interested in coming must 1) submit this online registration form and 2) bring a signed waiver form with them on the morning of the event. The Global Action Project is limited to the first 35 students who register. Students must be chaperoned by a parent or teacher.

Approximate address of site:
1812 Ala Mahamoe Street Honolulu, HI 96819
Park along the street and meet at the gate on the sidewalk area.

What to Expect:
The area we are working in is typically hot and dry, with high sun exposure. The terrain is uneven in some places and work will be done on easy-to-moderate slopes.
