Are you interested in being a part of shaping the futures of young leaders in Hawai’i?
Are you passionate about global peace and sustainability?
PAAC is currently seeking six to twelve graduate students across all disciplines to participate as coaches for the local 2023-2024 Academic WorldQuest Competition.
The Academic WorldQuest Competition is a global trivia competition for high school students. In teams of four, students across the state of Hawai’i test their International IQ for a chance to win a trip to Washington, D.C. and compete in the National Academic WorldQuest Competition.
Here are the responsibilities of coaches and the estimated hours for this role:
|Attend a training session in October||[2 hours]|
|Choose one content area and read materials provided in study guide (example)||[6-8 hours]|
|Attend Academic WorldQuest Virtual Launch Party on November 16th||[1.5 hours]|
|Create 10 questions for the local competition||[5 hours]|
|Create 10-15 questions for practice with students||[5-7 hours]|
Meet with student teams virtually for coaching sessions in Jan/Feb *Hours dependent on total # of coaches recruited.
|Attend Academic WorldQuest Competition in March 2, 2024||[3 hours]|
