What is COP27?

“On 20 November, the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which took place in the Egyptian coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh, concluded with a historic decision to establish and operationalize a loss and damage fund.” (learn more here)

What will I learn?

Learn from leaders in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific who attended COP27. Join like-minded high school students across our state to consider what we can do and what we can save because the transition to a low-carbon world also requires the participation of citizens – especially in advanced economies - and YOUTH. Leave with a sense of awareness and purpose to address “the greatest challenge that humanity faces today,” António Guterres- Secretary General of the United Nations.
